  • NITRA Transfers Heat Testing Instrument Technology to M/s Asian Textile Equipments
    The Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) has transferred its advanced technology for testing heat and thermal behaviour of protective textiles to M/s Asian Textile Equipments. Developed under the NTTM-sponsored project, the technology enables comprehensive assessment of convective, radiant, and contact heat, significantly strengthening India’s capabilities in protective textile testing.
  • Union Textiles Minister Shri Giriraj Singh Visits NITRA, Dedicates Advanced Testing Facility
    Hon’ble Union Minister for Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, visited the NITRA campus and reviewed the pioneering Milkweed (Aak) cultivation project led by Dr. M. S. Parmar, Director General, NITRA. During the visit, the Minister dedicated India’s first Manikin Flame Test System to the nation and the textile industry. He lauded NITRA’s groundbreaking research on Milkweed fibre, highlighting its sustainability, industrial adoption, and transformative potential for the textile sector.

  • MoU Signed for Future Collaboration in Milkweed Cultivation and Fibre Sourcing
    NITRA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ruma Devi Foundation on 3 December 2025 to collaborate on sustainable materials, milkweed cultivation, and sourcing of milkweed fibre. The MoU was signed by Dr. M. S. Parmar, Director General, NITRA, and Ms. Ruma Devi, Founder, Ruma Devi Foundation, with a shared vision of promoting rural skill development, community empowerment, and eco-friendly textile initiatives.

    NITRA had the pleasure of hosting Ms. Priyanka Khosla Bajaj, Director, Khosla Profil, on 5 December 2025.
