Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, in July 2010 launched the “ Integrated SkiIl Development Scheme (ISDS) ” for the textile and apparel sector including Jute & Handicrafts with a financial outlay of Rs. 229 cr to train 26.75 lac people for 5 years.
NITRA has been chosen as one of the implementing agencies and has set a target to train 16,600 personnel over the next 5 years in the complete textile supply chain.
Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India has sanctioned Rs. 12.57 Cr to NITRA to add state-of-the-art infrastructure to its existing facilities so that trainees undergoing various training programs get exposed to the latest technologies of textile and garment manufacturing.
